Torsten thanks voters on first day in Parliament as Swansea MP

A message from Torsten:

I headed into Parliament to start a new life as your MP today, standing up for Swansea West and playing my small part in delivering the badly needed change a Labour Government will bring.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone in Swansea who put their trust in me and the Labour Party. We understand how important that trust is and we will not let you down. And whoever you voted for in this election, I will work to be your representative, your voice in the years ahead.

During the election I promised to focus on the bread and butter issues that matter to people – better jobs, investment in our green energy potential, and decent public transport. I’ve already started work, for example meeting those providing our bus and train services, and will focus every day on delivering for our city.

Swansea West voted for change and put its faith in Labour. We will repay your trust.
